The photos on my layout are of an Easter Egg Hunt on our church lawn after Easter Sunday service a couple years ago.  They actually used real hard boiled eggs for the hunt.  Maybe that's why the adults had more fun gathering eggs than the kids did LOL.  I used the bunny and sentiment stamps from the  Mark's Finest Papers Spring Things set on my page.  I stamped the bunnies on cardstock, fussy cut them and adhered them to my page with pop dots.  The stamped sentiment was punched from cardstock and embellished with gems.  I also stamped  "Happy Easter" on the punched border using a stamp from the He Is Risen set.

Word Art Wednesday #73

Before I get to this week's word art, I just want to say how grateful I am to all of you who stop by my blog week after week to see see what I've created for Word Art Wednesday.  Your presence and your wonderful comments bless me more than you'll ever know.

Today's word comes from the book of Isaiah...

God does not work as man works. He does not think as man thinks. His ways are not man’s ways. They are above and beyond anything that we can ever conceive.

For this week's layout I choose a picture of TJ reading the bible. It was taken on Christmas morning 2012.  Our greatest hope is that TJ grows up to be a strong man of God.  While we don't know what his future holds,  God's word tells us that if we train up a child in the way he should go, when he is old, he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6).  So we are teaching TJ God's ways, His truths and His word. And that God's way is always perfect.

For my layout I used photos from my grandmother's album.  This time I know who's in the photos LOL.  It's my mother's younger sister, and the photos are her school portraits.  One when she was a little girl and one seven years later.   I stamped the globe and clock from the Mark's Finest Papers In My Den set on some shipping tags for my page embellishments. I cut the tags to fit my layout, distressed the edges, and attached them to the page with brads.

Word Art Wednesday #72

It's time for this week's word art!!  Today's word is from the book of Galatians...

We have two versions of our word art this week...black & white and colorized.  I choose to use the colorized version as it went perfectly with my photo.  If you'd like the black and white version, you can find it on the Word Art Wednesday Blog.

To crucify or to die to self...to die to our selfish motives, the I, I, I, and me, me, me mentality...is to love Christ more than self.  Truly humble people are Christ centered.  Christ lives in them and reveals himself  through their thoughts, words and deeds.  When we are totally sold out to Christ, we don't have to do work for Him, He does His work through us.

I'm revisiting the Grand Canyon for my layout today. This time I used a photo of my brother,  a strong man of God who has been crucified with Christ,  standing on some rocks near the rim of the Canyon.  He decided to climb down the canyon a bit for this photo and as you can see, there are no guard rails or safety bars.  Certainly not something I would do but I guess he trusted God to order his steps and the results were this fabulous photo.

Supplies:
Me and My Big Ideas Patterned Paper and Stickers
Basic Grey Buttons
Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Spellbinders Nestabilities Die

My layout for this challenge is of TJ, back when he was a wee little one.  That green hat was one of his favorites.  I used the MFP Lots of Luck set to embellish my photos.  The leprechaun and pot of shamrocks were stamped and colored with Copic Spica pens and PrismaColor pencils.  I stamped a sentiment at the bottom of the photo mat and on the tag. I dusted off my Making Memories Tag Maker to make the metal rimmed tag.

Word Art Wednesday #71

It's Word Art Wednesday!!  Today's word is from 1 Corinthians...

For my layout,  I used a photo of the Grand Canyon, one of God's masterpieces, that I took during our vacation last summer.  Words cannot begin to describe the Canyon,  you have to be there to really absorb all of it's beauty. And even with being there, it's still hard to fully grasp the magnificence of God's creation.  Today's scripture reminded me of the feeling I had when I was at the rim of the Canyon.  Standing there, you get swallowed up in God's presence.  You can feel Him all around you.
And you know that He can do exceedingly, abundantly more than we can ever ask or imagine.

Supplies:
Club Scrap Patterned Paper and Cardstock

Word Art Wednesday #70

Hi, it's Word Art Wednesday!!  Today's word is from the Book of Psalms...

Today's scripture is one that I pray often.  I so desire that the words that I speak and the thoughts of my heart be acceptable and pleasing to God.  I know that I cannot do this in and of myself so I turn to God, who is my strength and my redeemer, for help.   God is in control of everything, including my words and thoughts, so I know that with Him, I can get them lined up right.

I'm using a photo of my husband for my layout today.  He was the speaker for our church's Christmas Friends and Family Breakfast in December 2012.  He began his message with a prayer that concluded with today's scripture.  The cute little girl in the "amen corner" is a digital image from one of this week's sponsors, Jelly Park digital stamps.

Supplies:
DCWV Patterned Paper
Jelly Park Digital Stamp
Buttons
Prismacolor Pencils
Gamsol
Stampin' Up Corner Punch
