At the Pool

Welcome to the weekly scrapbook challenge at Mark's Finest Papers SpeedyTV.

We're well into the dog days of summer so this week's challenge is all about summer.  Your challenge is to create a layout using summer colors (any colors that make you think of summer) and you must use stamps on your layout.
You can use any type of stamps you wish, but if you use Marks Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co stamps you will receive an additional entry in the drawing for a chance to win our weekly stamp prize for August.  We have a new challenge every Thursday so be sure to stop by each week.

Each week in August one blessed person will win this beautiful stamp...

I choose another of my grandmother's photos for my challenge layout.  It's a photo taken at what appears to be a community swimming pool.  I don't know anything about the photo but I can imagine that the couple was out for an afternoon stroll, maybe on a date, and they stopped to watch the children at the pool.

My stamps are from the Mark's Finest Papers I Need A Vacation set.

I can't wait to see what you create for this week's challenge! To be eligible to win the August stamp be sure to link your page to MFPSpeedyTV Scrapbook Challenge #27  and mention the MFPSpeedyTV Scrapbook Challenge in your blog post. You have until 9:00 pm on Wednesday August 14th to submit your layouts.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Blessings to you!

  3. What I really love about this is how you used clearly modern materials so successfully with a heritage photo. I wish more people would see the possibilities of this. I also thought it was unusual that someone took a picture of the back of 2 people looking through a fence. Most photos back then were posed. Then of course the historical statement of the time when pools in Philly were segregated.

  5. What a gorgeous layout Gemiel! I love that paper!! And I really like what you've been doing scrapping all your old vintage photos. I have some of those I want to scrap but just haven't gotten to them yet. I think they make such beautiful pages though!
