"Little Church"
I hope you aren't getting tired of seeing photos from my grandmother's album. I am really enjoying scrapbooking them and getting a glimpse into her and my mother's life. Unfortunately neither of them are here to tell me about the photos so I am having fun imagining what is going on in some of the pictures. The picture on my page is of 2 of my mother's younger brothers. The picture is really faded but if you look closely you can see that they are carrying books, so they must be on their way to or from school. I'm guessing they spotted someone with a camera and stopped to strike a "cool" pose. My mother had several brothers and because the faces are a little faded, I wasn't exactly sure which brother's the were. But to my great surprize, when I pried the photo off of the album page, I discovered that my grandmother had written their names on the back. I scanned the back of the photo and printed it so I could add their names to the layout in her handwriting.
I decided I wanted to grunge up this layout so I got out my Distrezz-it-All and my Tim Holtz Distresser and distressed some of the patternend papers. To add a little more grunge to the paper, I stamped the edges with a couple of Mark's Finest Papers background stamps. To tie in the school theme, I stamped the globe on a scrap of the patterned paper, fussy cut it and added it to the page with pop dots.
Supplies:
Making Memories Patterned Paper & Tag
Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Maya Road Twine

Hello Gemiel. I really love the playful colors of this lay-out and the stamping effects. The distressing fits perfectly with the older photo. I did see what looked like a vintage photo of your mother, if I remember right, on one of your SpeedyTV lay-outs...so pretty. I couldn't wait to work on my first real vintage photo which is now the entry (1925 pic). My pages usually take me forever to finish. I'll have to check out your Wed challenge on your sidebar here too! Thanks for connecting with me, I'll see if I can pull off another entry, Blessings, Lisa
