Hi!! Before we get to our word art for the week, I'd like to thank everyone for stopping by my blog week after week and viewing my layouts. I really appreciate all of your wonderful comments. They bless me more than you know.
Today's word is from the Book of Isaiah...
We are all children, God's children, and as such we should be taught of our Father, the Lord. God has appointed and annointed teachers to instruct us under His direction and blessing. God tells us that those that know and love Him shall have great peace and joy. As a parent, what greater joy is there than to know that our children will have God's peace because we have ensured that they have been taught of and know Him.
We started teaching our son TJ of God at a very early age. Proverbs 22:6 tells us to "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not turn from it." TJ is active in our church and he has been a lay reader since he was in elementary school. When he first started reading, he had to stand on a stool to be seen. Now he no longer needs the stool. We are so proud of him.
For my layout, I used a photo of TJ doing the scripture reading at Sunday service last month. To embellish the page I stamped the Our Daily Bread Designs Grunge Cross next to the photo. To go along with the grunge look of the image, I distressed the edges of my papers and added metal studs.
Supplies:
DCWV Patterned Papers
ODBD Grunge Cross Stamp
K&Co. Metal Studs

ReplyDeleteGem: It's such a blessing to know that you are raising your children in the love and fear of the Lord. TJ, and kids like him, are our future. They are the future generation of doctors, lawyers, presidents, etc., and to know that he will be a strong Christian man is such a blessing. May God bless your efforts, and keep him ever close to His perfect will for his life. This really blessed my heart.
ReplyDeleteI am so grateful for you!

ReplyDeleteOh, I couldn't agree with you more, Geniel. As a parent, a praying mama since my children were in my womb, my greatest joy is to see them walking with our precious Savior. I too am a mother of a child (two actually) with a destiny. Our son is 22 and our daughter is 19. Both love the Lord, and both have unique testimonies which they must experience in order to help others while they journey to their true calling...and the calling for all of us is actually God's throne. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is not always easy for this praying mama to see the making of these testimonies, but I prayed a revolutionary prayer when my children were in my womb. It was that they would DETEST religion, fall head-over-heels in love with Jesus Christ, and love all sinners, especially those rejected and wounded by religion. Little did I know what that would involve. :) Plenty of disappointment with man and condemnation, but it's all good because neither one is the source of abundant LIFE.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful verse today. I actually stopped by to tell you how much I loved your card. I think I was smiling all day when I received it a couple of weeks ago.
Thank you, love.
Have a beautiful day.
Much love,
Marcia
