I am so excited to be one of the Scrapbook Challenge hostesses over at Christian Paper Crafts. My challenge is called Gems of Inspiration and it will post on the first Thursday of the month. What are Gems of Inspiration? They are little nuggets or gems of information, that are designed to inspire you to create. Each month you will find a different gem... it may be a technique, a theme, a color combination, a product, a verse of scripture... that is designed to inspire you and get your creative juices flowing.
This month’s inspirational gem comes straight from the CPC message boards. Over the past few weeks there has been a lively discussion about the new Sew Easy tool, by We R Memory Keepers. If you’re not familiar with the Sew Easy, it’s a tool used for punching holes for decorative stitching on paper. Let this discussion inspire you to incorporate some stitching on a layout. You don’t have to have a Sew Easy tool to stitch, stitching can be done free hand with just a needle and thread, or with a sewing machine. You can use a faux stitching technique where you create the look of stitching with markers. Stitching on layouts can also be done using rub on stitches or rubber stamped stitches.
I was inspired by the discussion to get out my Sew Easy tool and create a stitched border on my photo mat. I used the loop stitching head and some green floss.
You can find more details about my layout on the Christian Paper Crafts Blog . I'd love for you to play along in this challenge. Please add your direct link to this post on the CPC Blog so we can see what you create. I can’t wait to see how you are inspired by this gem to incorporate some stitching onto your layout.
Beautiful page and beautiful family!!!! I just wanted to tell you to check out the ODBD blog hop winners post! :) Congratulations!
